White House envoy: Putin is not a ‘bad person’, prayed for Trump

White House envoy: Putin is

White House envoy Steve Witkoff has called Russian President Vladimir Putin “trustworthy” and said he is not a “bad guy.” Putin told him he prayed for his friend, US President Donald Trump, after he heard he had been shot. Witkoff met with Putin in Moscow for several hours last week. He told US media that the meeting was “pro-solution” about ending the war in Ukraine.

In a right-wing podcast, Witkoff said he sees Putin as a “great leader” who wants to end Russia’s bloody conflict with Ukraine. “I liked Putin. I thought he was honest with me. I don’t see him as a bad guy,” Witkoff said. He also called the Ukraine war a complicated situation.

Witkoff also said that Putin went to a local church to pray for Trump after Trump was shot in July 2024. Putin made the request as a friend, not as a head of state, Witkoff claimed. He also said Putin had given him a portrait of Trump by a leading Russian artist.

Witkoff advised Ukrainian President Zelensky to “make a deal” with Russia now. According to him, Zelensky needs to understand that he is fighting a nuclear-armed state that is weakening day by day. White House envoy: Putin is
